In the past weeks I have been working on the next important step of the Ommik development – a workstation configurator. What is it? And why is it important? Continue reading to find out these and other questions.
A workstation configurator
My next step in the Ommik’s development is to be the actual configurator of the home office workstation. The idea behind it is pretty simple: a user will select the style, purpose, location and add-ons of the home office they dream of and type the budget. When they click on GENERATE NY WORKSTATION button, the input is going to be transformed into a prompt, which is easily understood by a generative AI. The prompt is the USP, as I am working on it to make sure it generates the exact image, I want it to.
The budget
The budget is an important part of the algorithm. It will take the number from a user and find the products withing that budget. Now, it is interesting to add, according to my own experience, it is nearly impossible to have a home office with a budget below 300 EUR. Therefore, the limits are 300 to 5000 EUR.
The purpose
The is also a nice touch. I offer to select 4 options: working (from home), gaming, studying and all purpose (combination of everything). The workstation setup could be different according to how you want to use it. Therefore, these are the options.
The style
I came up with 12 interior design style options. Each of the styles have their own attributes and characteristics. I want to set the Nordic style as a default on purpose. Ommik is a Nordic brand, therefore it is important for me to have this option pre-selected.
The location
The location is the room, where the home office workstation be located. For now, I only have 4 options: living room and bedroom (these two are the most common ones), then study (a dedicated room for working from home) and other (basically, any other rooml).
Extra
Here I have a list of Add-Ons. There are accessories, decorations and storage space. For the beginning, I won’t be offering the products in these categories, but this is a pramount for the future development.
