If you still can’t decide what you want to put on your empty walls, and the Scandinavian wall art I talked about is not your thing, you might try these beautiful travel posters from illustrator Henry Rivers. The style of his work is so inspiring, calming and motivating to leave your home and hit the road. I mean, it could be a perfect solution for a guest room for a host, who doesn’t like to host and wants his guests to hit the road!
Travel Poster Co. is a collection of artworks by British illustrator Henry Rivers. Taking his inspiration from vintage travel advertising, Henry is on a mission to capture the world’s best-loved places with cool colours, playful details and a distinctive minimalist style.
Travel Poster Co. is an ongoing collection with new designs added regularly. Prints of all our posters can be purchased from our online shop and network of retail partners.
The British illustrator grew up on the Isle of Wight, an island south of England, and after spending time in London, he decided to move back to a quieter spot, this time the French countryside.
His signature style is graphical art in the form of illustrations of well-known places around the world.
Although he describes his art as minimalist, the road to a finished design is a long one. The creative process starts with 20 or so smaller sketches before he starts drawing in a larger format, in which more details are added.
Then separate sketches are drawn to get the right look e.g., materials of a building. After that, the last, digital stage is begun, in which, among other things, colours and textures are worked out and polished until he is satisfied.
Rivers’ plans for the future include continuing his “Travel Poster” series and creating more graphical illustrations that capture the essence of destinations around the world.
Fun fact, you can find these travel posters also in Desenio.
