Howdy reader! Today I am going to talk about the lighting company I stumbled upon recently – Marset. Marset lamps, as the company describes itself, are more than just lamps. At Marset they take care of light and its various nuances and effects to improve people’s quality of life.

What is so unique about Marset lamps? Well, of course, the design plays with the light in the most respectful and functional way. You will be surprised that the lamps of this Spanish company contribute to sustainable living by creating durable lamps with beautiful and innovative designs and new technologies.
Pleat Box
To illustrate some of their work, let’s have a look at the Pleat Box pendant lamp, designed by Xavier Mañosa & Mashallah in 2011. Pleat Box was created by applying a digitally designed fabric crease to ceramics. Therefore, the origins of one of Marset’s most artisanal designs lie in the digital realm. The outside of the lamp is available in ceramic white, black, terracotta and grey. This collection is also available with integrated LED technology, which projects indirect light and prevents glare.
Mercer
Next is the Mercer pendant lamp, designed by Joan Gaspar in 2005. The uniqueness of the Mercer comes not only from its pure shape but also from its materials: the transparent blown glass structure wraps around the textile shade. If you are looking for something sophisticated, that’s the lamp for you.
The inner diffuser fabric is available in two finishes: in ecru cotton ribbon, and in a more modern and minimalist version, in pearl white.
Djembé
Finally, my other favorite pendant lamp comes from a Djembé collection, designed by Joan Gaspar in 2017. A bell-shaped ceiling fixture with an exposed interior, Djembé is available in different sizes and colours that can be used individually or combined to create a stunning collage of lights.
