After a couple of successful reviews of mechanical keyboards (MX Mechanical and Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro), it is about time to look at one more fantastic product. Today, I would like to review Keychron Q2 Pro, a wireless custom mechanical keyboard.
So, what is so special about this cute keyboard?
First off, you would be surprised to know, it is a full metal keyboard, made of CNC aluminum. That’s right! The entire metal body is crafted with 6063 aluminum that is processed through CNC machined, polished, anodized, sandblasted, and undergoes 24 more manufacturing stages to make this solid metal piece of art that is the Q2 Pro.
Along with some of the premium designs, including double-gasket design, PBT keycaps, screw-in stabs, etc., it delivers an unprecedented typing experience!
The keyboard is either wireless or wired, 1000 Hz polling rate (in wired mode).
Besides, it has QMK/VIA support. Simply put, QMK is firmware—a set of instructions built into your keyboard’s memory. Firmware is how your computer knows what buttons do, depending on what it was programmed to do. By changing your firmware instructions, you can use QMK to personalize your keyboard experience.
The keyboard Keychron Q2 Pro can connect up to 3 devices via its stable Broadcom Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless multitasking, which is great, as very often we need to switch between the devices. In my personal mechanical keyboard, I use this feature pretty often, when I need to switch between my work MacBook, personal Dell and Samsung tablet. A reliable USB Type-C wired connection is also available when you need it.
It is easy to assemble and during the purchase, you can decide if you want it to be delivered already assembled or you will enjoy assembling it yourself.
The keyboard has KSA PBT keycaps. They are made of PBT material with a double-shot production method, making them oil-resistant, durable, and long-lasting. The legends on the keycap will maintain their original state much longer than many of their peers. The KSA profile is a unique, custom profile that is like the SA profile but with a shorter height and a more curved surface. It is designed to provide a comfortable typing experience while also being aesthetically pleasing.
The keyboard has Double Gasket Design, which is a new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plates, we added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce the sound resonance between the metals and reduce the noise of the impacted metals.
Let me tell you, all these stunning features could be a perfect addition to your home office.
