Easter holidays are slowly approaching us, which means we have a reason to freshen up our décor for a short while with an Easter theme. I have researched the trends and come up with sustainable decoration ideas for Easter 2021.
The big deal, this and the previous years, plays sustainability in any aspects of our lives. Millennials and younger generations are very much aware of climate change, and they tend to go for eco-friendly products, services and solutions. Easter holiday décor is no exception. This year’s trends are wood, sustainable and even raw materials and absolutely no plastic items.
Speaking of Easter holidays, as a part of the tradition in the western world, we always think of common traditional objects: Easter eggs, Easter bunny candles and candle holders, spring flowers and vases and lights.
Let’s start with an empty canvass. In our case, it is a bunch of Easter eggs. Wooden eggs. Nothing could be simpler and more sustainable than this. They are nicely done, and the colour of the wood as well as the texture are already more than enough for me. But here you can be as creative as possible. Use them as-is, or paint them any colour you want.
As an idea, you can place them into a look-through basket or vase, add flowers on the top and it is an amazing piece for your home. Or traditionally, simply put them in the basket.
I like them because you can reuse them year after year. You can purchase wooden Easter eggs in a set of 10 or 6 eggs. Each egg is 40 x 60cm.
Another idea is to get those pretty ceramic eggs.
What I like about them is the imperfection of their shapes and the light pink colours. You can buy Ceramic Easter eggs in sets of 2 (7,5 x 9,5cm each) or 4 eggs (5,5 x 6,5xm each).
When it comes to baskets, we stumbled upon this wonderful piece. A geometric black fruit basket. Yes, not a traditional basket you would think of, but an unconventional fruit basket, which you can use in the interior as a home décor item.
Let’s move to the cute side of things. Bunnies. Our absolute number one Easter bunnies’ figurines are those two bunnies of 11,5 and 14,5cm and different shades of grey.
In our opinion, the size of the figurines is perfect. Not too big to take up a lot of space in the interior, but not too small to be overseen. Although, from the reviews, customers seem to expect them to be a little bigger in size.
How cute do they look in the interior, right? You can get your pair of grey Easter bunnies from Amazon.
Another ceramic product is this pair of Easter bunnies, which are also super cute and would be a perfect addition to your Easter themed home décor.
The fun part about them is that they are egg-shaped. Those 14cm figurines are the most Easter thing we have ever seen.
Finally, a little different approach, but here is a set of paper-made bunny-headed boxes, that you can use to store sweets and presents for children. They look fun and super playful.
The size of the boxes is 7 x 7cm and they come with a set of 12 boxes and different colours.
If you like candles, there is a great option to get egg-shaped candles that come in different colours in a 15-egg set or a more sophisticated 18-egg set of only 3 colours (white, yellow, green).
When we think of the Easter holidays, the first thing coming into our minds is spring. Finally, sunny days are back after the long and dark winter, and we want to have the fresh feeling of the sun and the spring to have at home, too. Nothing is better to achieve this than flowers. We talk about real flowers, not decoration ones. So go ahead, bring home some nice tulips of soft calming spring colours and put them in the most beautiful vases you have!
We got obsessed with this green-gold ceramic vase, which would fit nicely in any interior and fits perfectly for your fresh tulips!
The size of this beauty is 10 x 20cm and weight is around 540 grams.
Easter motives you can add to pillows and set them up around the house. Pillows in general are an easy trick to make your home cozy. The silhouette of a bunny or an egg could be a wonderful addition to your holiday’s theme. You can either purchase a pillowcase or pillow with an already existing Easter motive or a DIY one yourself. We have found this great step-by-step instruction in On Sutton Place.
