In this post, I wrote about the final round of purchasing new furniture for the living room. In this post, I will talk about decorating the living room with home decor, the wall decor and other last touches of my living room that I have purchased and soon will be installing.
Decorating the living room
Lighting
This ceiling lamp Buk I is what I was dreaming about for my dining area. My idea is to redesign the light in the living room and move the ceiling lamp from the middle of the ceiling to the corner, where the dining table is located. I will think of another lighting solution for the couch area, but my idea is so damn good. The light is massive, it will be hanging over three heads and will shift the focus to the dining when I will host dinner with my friends and family.

To provide the electricity to that area in a nice way, I have ordered a few items from Amazon:
The elastic silicon cover CableCup for the part where the original electricity wires are coming from. It gives a beautiful shape and hides all the ugliness of the wires and ceiling holes.
5-meter long black textile wire, that I will attach to the CableCup and provide until the dining area.
A set of white hooks that I can attach to the ceiling and help the wire go the nice way around the ceiling. Now, why are they white and not black, like everything else? I simply don’t want them to be seen. The ceiling itself is white, and I think black wire will give it a little interest, but I don’t want to see those hooks.

Wall mirror
This wall round mirror Candelaria is a great solution for a wall. And yes, mirrors should not always bring functionality. A beautiful wall mirror can expand the room visually or be just nice wall decor.

Abstract painting
Choosing a painting for the wall above my couch, I wanted to make sure it will have the colours of my living room. Of course, it the red, white and gold. The painting I have chosen is a 120x60cm painting Dominant Wide.

Wallpapers
Yes, in the plural. I am going to be using 2 types of wallpaper. I have a little corner right by the dining area, which shapes makes me feel it used to be a part of the chimney. I will use white wallpaper to mimic the brick.
For the rest of the room, I will be using the wallpaper in petrol colour, my favorite colour for the walls. The depth and contrast between red, petrol and white are simply amazing. The room will look stunning, and I know that because I used to paint this room in a petrol colour before.

Shades
For my 2 windows in the living room, I have ordered new black shades. I need them because summers in Berlin are very bright and if I put up someone in my living room or just watch TV, it is way too bright.
Table cover
For my dining table, I decided to get a pretty table cover. It just gives a nice feeling of being at your parents’ house. Not necessarily my style, and maybe eventually I will be using the table without the cover, but for now, I am quite happy with how it looks.

Decor for the table
To make my dining table even prettier, I have ordered a nice old-school white jug and 2 artificial leaves of Monstera. They look wonderful together.
Throw pillows
My couch came with only 2 pillows. I know it needs more than that to make the place look homey. So, I ordered different decorative pillows of different shapes but kept the colour palette of the living room: long petrol ones, square red ones, square gold ones, a long gold one and a red circle one.

What do you think about my purchases? In the next makeover post, I will share the pictures of my living room and how it looks after the full makeover.
