Video of the week: Dark green living room makeover
3 October, 2022Colour green in the interior is the addition to my colourful posts (red, black, yellow). I am not going to differentiate light green and dark green, because both tones look absolutely wonderful at home. If a dark design is not your thing, then easily look at the light green solutions. For more brave readers, dark green could become a new favorite.
Why do I like green interior design? Green walls create a calm and peaceful vibe. The colour transmits tranquility and good health and immediately you feel safe. Green decor items don’t scream nor pop. They alleviate the design of the space and bring peaceful vibes. For me personally, colour green is the colour of nature. Something I see so powerful and pure.
So, let’s get inspired by some of my green decor finds, shall we?
Colour green in the interior
Matt wallpaper Caedmon
Let’s start off with this rich and beautiful wallpaper with a nature print Caedmon from Sansibar Home. What I love about this print is that it is not too dark, and the leaves are making a great composition.

You can buy a 10-meter roll from WayFair for 89,99€. It is clearly on the higher-end price, but totally worth it.
Rowan ceiling pendant
Now, how about this beauty, huh? A glass ceiling lamp Rowan from Copenhagen Glass Collection is my favorite. The glass is uneven, and those who know me, know also that I like asymmetry, so this pendant makes my heart skip the beat. The Rowan pendants are made using traditional mouth blown glass – these are not mass-produced lights you will see everywhere. And that makes it unique.
The pendant has a diameter of twenty-two centimeters and is in a forest green glass. It has a long drop gold braided cable which makes this light great for rooms with lofty ceilings.

Get yourself one (or more) from The Lighting Company.
Armchair Kolton
Now, how about we talk about something suuuuuper comfortable? Accent armchair Kolton is definitely a showstopper because of the dark green colour and the unusual shape. This is your personal cloud, where you can get yourself cozy with a delightful book. The armchair is wide, welcoming, and comfortably chic, with quilted upholstery details that feel woolly and warm.

Plants. Many many plants
When it comes to house plants, more is more. I love the jungles, so I am always happy to bring new plants home. For a living room, consider at least one big plant, a tree, or multiple medium-size plants. Combine the plants with different leaf shapes and various shades of green.
Put them on the surface, on the floor, on the shelves. Attach them to the ceiling with hanging pots. Get as creative as possible, but don’t forget to water them from time to time.

Rug VONSBÄK
In IKEA you can find an incredibly beautiful light green rug VONSBÄK, which will be a perfect addition to your living space or bedroom. I like the old look of it, which is popular nowadays. The measurements are also quite nice, 170 x 230 cm.

Get it from IKEA for only 79,99€.
Tell me, how do you use the colour green in the interior?
