The idea is for the bravest people out there because we will talk about the colour black in the interior. Have you ever thought about why most people choose white or bright colours for their interiors? I tend to think it is because bright colours are safe, with minimal to no risk. We want the interior to serve the purpose of being in the background, not stepping up with a flashy or loud statement.
Those who know me have seen my living room. It is intense. I mean the colours are intense. I call it “my Almodovar room” because it has bold colours, and maximum contrast and the entire room is a conversation starter. And I absolutely love it. I am taking the risk when it comes to interior design and trust me, I feel good about it. I feel comfortable on my walls, because they represent me, a risk-taker.
But enough about me. Let’s talk about the riskiest, the deepest, the loudest but also the most luxurious colour there is – black.
In this post, I want to give you some ideas on the items in your interior that you can use to highlight the colour black and make it the hero of your room.
The famous Guéridon Bas table from Vitra comes in different wood colours, but you can try the solid dark oak or deep black powder coated.
Have you seen this pretty piece before? A round clock from Cander in black is necessary!
Another conversation piece is this table lamp from ANDlight. You can take and place it anywhere to introduce the colour black in the interior. Compact light and practical.
Now, how about something unusual? A black Leather Mariposa Butterfly Chair by cuero is a comfortable leather chair that simply is calling you to take a book and relax.
A fantastic idea! You get yourself a throw pillow and get those stunning black velvet cushion covers from Zara Home! And you have something black and cuddly on your sofa! That didn’t sound right…
What do you think about the black colour in the interior? Would you go for something so bold and deep? Let me know in the comment section below.
