Amazon Prime Days 2023 to upgrade home office setup

My dear readers! This year I participated in this shopping event and ended up using most of the Amazon Prime Days 2023 to upgrade home office setup. And let me tell you, it was a fantastic idea. My old setup was upgraded to the point where it was unrecognizable, and it is so comfortable now.

Today, I want to share with you what new products I have purchased on this year’s Amazon Prime Days.

Let’s start with a little comparison, how my home office setup looked like before and how it looks like now.

Before the upgrade, I had only one external monitor, which was a 32-inch Smart Monitor from Samsung. It is an absolutely amazing monitor, and I would surely recommend you get one, but ONLY if you don’t have a Samsung TV in the same room. Why? The biggest pain was that if I use my remote control to turn on or off my TV, the Smart Monitor also catches the signal and, as well, turns on or off. For those who don’t know, Samsung’s Smart Monitor can be used not only for work, but also as a TV. Samsung provides an extensive amount of free for life channels (including CNN, which I watch daily). So, yes, a great monitor with bad setting if used in the same room with other Samsung TVs. Dear Samsung, I am your biggest fan, but it is time for you to figure out this remoter control issue and build new remote controls that could separate the signals.

Second, my desk was a mess. I didn’t have enough space to organize my notes, pens, and notebooks. So, they were all over my desk. Now, I have found a better solution for organizing it and decluttering my workspace. Keep reading for more details.

Third, the lighting. The desk lamp was taking up a lot of space and even though the lamp was absolutely beautiful, I found a better solution.

Products

Dell S2721NX 27-inch Monitor

I got two of them. In comparison, my Samsung Smart Monitor was 32-inches. I replaced it with two 27-inches Dell monitors, which were cheap, but a great solution. I only need my monitors to be monitors, nothing else. I don’t need smart functionality. Why did I go with Dell monitors? First, the company I work with has Dell monitors at the office, and using them for years, made my decision super easy, as I was always satisfied. Amazon Prime Days offered those monitors with a really nice discount. Therefore, I didn’t have to think twice.

Baseus Docking Station

Now, I already had a docking station, but it was only possible to connect one external monitor. Since I had now two external monitors, I needed to have a new docking station and here it is, I found a perfect one. The docking station by Baseus can be used to connect up to 3 external monitors. Besides, it has USB-A ports, USB-C ports, network ports, SD and micro-SD cards readers. In total, it is like a Swiss knife, has 13-in-1 ports to use. Absolutely fantastic solution if you want to organize and declutter your connections and have only one cable to be connected to your laptop.

Personally, I use 6 ports: wireless mouse, wireless mechanical keyboard, power cable, 2 monitors, and 1 USB-C charger.

It is a bit of a medium price, not too cheap, but it is so worth it! I am using it for the third day now and can’t be any happier.

Vaydeer Double Monitor Stand

Now, let’s talk about organizing the desk and my two new monitors. The double monitor stand by Vaydeer did the trick for me. It is 985mm x 200mm x 90mm and fits perfectly on my standing desk. The surface is wide enough for my two 27-inch monitors.

Omoton Vertical Laptop Stand

Now, hear me out. Since I have two monitors, there is no need to have my laptop to be open on the side. Therefore, I was thinking of having a solution that would allow me to connect my monitors to a closed laptop. And having this vertical laptop stand on the side takes so much less space and contributes to my organized desk.

I have 2 laptops, one personal (Dell XPS 13′) and one from work (MacBook Pro 15′). All I need to do, whenever I am using one of these laptops, I only attach it to my docking station and voila! The laptop is closed, but monitors are connected to it allowing me to work comfortably.

Homyfort Hanging Storage

This upgrade is all about keeping my desk tidy and well-organized. The hanging storage was a perfect solution to take all the notebooks, stickies, pens, pencils, etc out of my desk and get them on the side.

Six pockets made of linen fabric blend in wonderfully with my setup. I have this piece of wall on the left side of my home office corner, right next to the window, which I can utilize now to hang the storage.

Dawntrees Desk Pad

I already had a desk pad, but the material made it super hard to clean and maintain a good look. Now, I have ordered a new desk pad by Dawntrees, which is a little bigger than my previous one. It is made of beautiful grey felt wool and looks incredible on my black desk.

Lighting

Now, when it comes to lighting, I went a bit above and beyond. I purchased two products to replace my old desk lamp.

Auquee Standing Lamp

My very first advice I can give in this post, if you have not much space on your desk, get rid of a desk lamp. Normally, it takes up a lot of space, and you can do much better. Nowadays, it has become trendier to have a standing lamp on the side of your desk. I decided, this is the perfect time to test this solution and got myself a stunning Aunquee standing lamp. I like the shape of it and the geometrical shape. I was always skeptical about lamps that expose the lightbulb, because it could be super uncomfortable when the light shines right into your eyes. What I did here, is getting a smart lightbulb from Tapo and configured warm dimmed light, so that even when it is on, my eyes are not irritated.

Quntis Monitor Lamp

Finally, for one of two monitors, I have got a monitor lamp by Quntis. Why only for one monitor? Well, the standing lamp I talked about in the previous paragraph gives enough light to this side of the desk. The monitor lamp helps to make the other side of the desk lighter. It has several temperature and brightness levels, from warm to cold. Turns on and off with just a touch and it looks so good. One other important thing to mention, it doesn’t leave a blick on the screen and is powered by USB.
